Pigs on the Run Championship BBQ Cooking Class Course date is May 8th 2010 , 10 am to 3 pm John Atkins is a true confessed BBQ snob! He has competed in the BBQ circuit for over 8 years. His BBQ team has won nationally and state wide. He is a certified BBQ Judge. He has written BBQ articles locally and nationally. He have been featured on Good Morning Charlottesville and interviewed by the Discovering Channel . He has been invited by the Jack Daniels World Championship BBQ contest x three . He has cooked for over 32 years and has run a successful catering business for over 8 years. He has given BBQ lectures and cooking classes with over 100 people in attendance. He has been consulted for advice by many local BBQ contest organizers. His criteria is simple, if you want to make real barbecue please have the respect to take the time to at least use wood! Also keep it fresh ! The class is an intro to Real Competition BBQ. He will cover the basics meats :Chicken , Ribs , Pork Butt, and Brisket. Also he will cover rubs , injection , sauces and cooking techniques. John's philosophy is that "BBQ is FUN!" Our Special guest speaker will be Bill Small (AKA as Bill the Grill guy) Organizer of   Que and Cruz BBQ contest (National sanctioning KCBS BBQ contest) and award winning competition cook. $100 per student and $150 per couple. ( Couples share manual and ect. ) A catered meal will follow .
